On September 18 at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, dancers drew on Merce Cunningham's early works for a performance among the galleries, including the new permanent-collection space devoted to the art of Josef and Anni Albers, recently gifted to the museum by the Albers Foundation. The dancers were accompanied by a cellist playing music by John Cage. Cage and Cunningham had a warm friendship with the Alberses, whom they met at Black Mountain College. ...
