Read below for Eden's beautifully written words illustrating the inspiration behind the final slide of her project. 🐱⁠ ⁠ "Peggy Morrison is an incredible woman, with what seems like boundless knowledge of the vast world of fashion. I felt honoured to be a part of her class, and even more so to hear about her own personal life and history. ⁠ ⁠ I drew the Peggy in clothing from the project, and included Monkey in my because I hoped it would make her smile, and show that I paid attention to not just her class but her as a person too.⁠ ⁠ Growing up, my family was not very well off. As such I grew a huge appreciation for beautiful things, textures and anything that sparkles. During Peggy’s class, I was always fascinated to hear her stories and see all of the beautiful, strange and unique objects that she has accumulated throughout her lifetime. ⁠ ⁠ Hearing about how her mom would sew all of her clothing reminded me of how I used to sew matching dresses for my sister and I so that we could feel fancy, even if the material had come from a bedsheet. Hearing parallel stories from such an amazing woman with so much knowledge and experience was incredibly inspiring. I have even considered teaching after being in Peggy’s class, because the difference a teacher can make in a students life is monumental. ⁠ ⁠ I related to Peggy with her love and adoration for her cat monkey, as well as her involvement with the SPCA. It was really cute when one of his photos would be slipped into our slides, it made everyone happy and even give out a little giggle here and there."
