Your holiday nightcap, reimagined
What do you call your final drink for the evening?
The word nightcap might be a vintage term, but it still evokes a warm, cozy, nostalgic feeling especially around the holidays.
So whatever you choose to call your final drink to end the night — evening pour or winter wind down, this zero proof seasonal sip is a no-guilt pleasure and you are going to want more than one!
Holiday cheers!
North Pole Nightcap (non-alcoholic)
1 oz NA tequila (I used Clean T)
2 oz NA coffee liqueur @drinkbecketts
.5 oz homemade peppermint syrup*
1 oz heavy cream
whipped cream
crushed candy canes
Instructions
Combine NA tequila, NA coffee liqueur, peppermint syrup, and heavy cream into a shaker | add ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled | strain into a glass with ice | top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes (optional)
Peppermint Syrup*
Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar to a small saucepan | over medium heat allow the sugar to dissolve while bringing the mixture to a boil | stir | remove from heat once it boils and stir in 1 tsp peppermint extract (you could also use 1/4 cup crushed candy canes) | if using candy canes you must stir continually so candy doesn’t stick to bottom of pan | remove from heat, strain (discard leftover candy), store in an airtight container. Refrigerate and use up to 2 weeks.
