Spent a day showing Claudia my old neighbourhood + chatting about growing up in Plaistow. East End baby gal 4evaaa. Little excerpt below ♥️
Photographer: @claudia_gschwend
Claudia: Tell me a few highlights of you growing up in Plaistow? And in general some memories about growing up.
Esé: I really loved playing out on my road. I’d ride my Scooter around with the other kids and learn silly dances together (pre TikTok haha) I went to a local youth club every week where I made a lot of lifelong friends. We’d also go camping every year and once went on a trip to Belarus!
I also loved my neighbors. I grew up with my grandma who was best friends with a couple that lived across the street. They were complete opposites. My granma being raised in Nigeria, whilst Uncle Bill and Aunty Marie in the East End of London.
Uncle Bill used to tell me stories of his experience fighting in the war and would also feed me Sausage rolls and Viennese swirl biscuits whenever I went to visit. Although we were different culturally they were like family.
