Estoy agradecido por una nueva oportunidad de empujarme más allá de mi propio pensamiento limitado. My recent journey to Mexico has been one of my life’s most enriching experiences: not only did I sharpen my Spanish (which I still have a long way to go), I dove deeper into my cultural being. I submersed myself into a world where I did not know anyone and have come out on the other side with deeper connections, especially with myself. One of the greatest gifts was a sense of “tranquilo.” More than just calm, it is a way of living and experiencing the world. Another wonderful gift was the people I met. Thank you Gabby, Dolores, and Daniela for making CIQ (Centro Intercultural de Queretaro) such a rich experience. Thank you to mis profesoras, Betty and Gladys, for your patience and inspiration. Thank you to Lupe and Rocio and their three amazing dogs for opening your home to me. And I am grateful for the new relationships I’ve made, especially my new Mexican family, Iyada and Vic, and my fellow traveling American friends, Meno and Sandra. And to the abundance of support from family and friends, you were with me every step along the way!
