It was only 6 months ago I was sitting on Jackie’s couch convincing myself this ceramic thing would work. I launched this with the idea of taking a step back and seeing if I could make something fun. Honestly, I just wanted to go camping more, and work on my trucks. Though now, I haven’t been camping in many months, and the cruiser is the gnarliest its been ever. Im still having trouble balancing life, but the effort feels good though, and you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette, right? I constantly try to hold no pretension to my work. What I’m creating is a result of people around me, and any brief stint of success I hope to share with them. Nowadays, it’s about the communities I’m apart of - photo, tattoo, trucks, art and clay. I feel grateful to take part in all of them, even though I don’t know how to photograph, tattoo, or work on trucks. I know a little bit about clay, I definitely dont know how to paint, but I step back sometimes and watch it all meld together so smoothly. Now artists I’ve admired for years are reaching out to me because I think they respect my work and want to participate in the energy of this community that’s being built. It’s this mutual respect that makes me want to push harder and create. It’s equally humbling and exciting as cool brands and photographers find interest in my pottery. When they ask for a photo or my story, I literally don’t know what to do with my hands or what to talk about. I hope more photos of me isn’t too annoying, but it’s what I’m noticing allows my pottery to reach more people. It’s just a numbers thing. I’m not an influencer, I’m a potter, but don’t forget once ur done reading this pls dm for product codes. (Kidding, lol) I’ve said this before, but at the end of the day I just want to make fun products and do a good job. I think I’m now finally diving into my teenage spirit ambitions, and as long as everyone is having fun, I’m cool. And as long as my customers believe in me and the product, im cool. I’ve been doing ceramics for many years, im a full time potter now in LA, and my very weird, little mud shop turned 6 months old yesterday, thank you so much, im still having so much fun <3 d
