Some may have noticed that I’ve become somewhat of a community activist over the past couple of months. Recently I accepted the nomination of Chairman @t.h.i.r.s.t.trust which is a National not for profit 501c6 lobby group. In addition to my role as Chairman, I am also the State Organizer for our charter in New York (we are 13 states and counting). I spend every day calling local government officials, small business owners and community leaders to be a part of fighting the legislation we need to help back up small business who are looking in every direction for help and aren’t receiving it. Collectively we spend billions a year so when times like this come, we don’t have to worry—that our insurance policies and the bills that interpret them are here for us. Unfortunately none of us got what we paid for and to change that for us and for future generations of jobs and small businesses that needs to start with us. Our organization has exploded over the last couple months but as a not for profit organization we need so many things to support us. We need more states to be involved with us for us to build a federal case while we advocate locally. We need community organizers to work with in our state districts to tell our legislatures to advocate for us. We need the media to lend us a microphone so the country knows how bad these problems are for everyone. We need IT Specialist, Marketing Masters, Public Advocates, Interns, Copy Writers, Videographers and a whole army to get in the trenches with us. If you support small business, local business, if you have worked in one, served or dined in a restaurant or bar, this issue matters to you. We are trying to save millions of jobs and also keep our economy from being taken over by fast food chains, Amazon and the like. Our government doesn’t care about us and we need voices so they can hear us. If this means something to you, I’m not asking you for money but simply a vote of confidence and a small amount of time will help us to continue the ground swell and in turn provide us all with hope of a moment in time to look forward to. 📸 by @dorongild @dorongildphotography
