And here we are. The end of an era. A moment that scared the hell out of me, and that I greatly looked forward to for years. Now that it has arrived, I can only smile and be thankful. Fully at peace, because I can without a doubt say that I played this one out completely. Not a stone left unturned, not a song unwritten. Earlier would have been too soon, later would have been too late, this was exactly fucking right. And I couldn't be more proud and grateful. It is not easy to let go of something so majestic at its absolute peak. But to me, it is the only right thing to do, when there's still some magic left. The mind has the tendency to cling, but the heart knows precisely when to let go, and I trust it completely. Without exception, it has always been right. I realise that this decision is a hard one for a lot of people, and to all of you I want to say: I acknowledge your sadness, and I am sending you love, a big hug, and an even bigger thank you for the times we've shared together. To everyone who has travelled with me on this road all these years, fans, crew, family, friends, our management, our booking agency, our record label and above all my brothers Niles, Jan, and Casper. Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a ride we've had. I can only smile and look back at something absolutely incredible. For now I say farewell to this particular stage.
