For those of you who don’t know, my world was turned upside down when my father suffered from multiple debilitating strokes two days before thanksgiving. This man is an acclaimed and brilliant cellist who taught and inspired me to be the musician I am today. He taught me everything I know about music, cooking, driving (if you know me, you know that those are my greatest strengths!) and more. Now he is being discharged from the rehab hospital to come home, as they feel he has made all the progress he can make there. His speech and cognition, however, have made almost no progress and “Ron”/“Dad”/“Papa” is still gone. I know he is somewhere in there but he will need around the clock care and aggressive in-home therapy to get him back (most of which is not covered by his insurance). My stepmom Cindy, sisters Caitlin & Christina, and I set up this Gofundme in response to the heartfelt support we have received over the past few weeks.
