I began this piece in commemoration of my first real Hollywood gig drawing makeup designs for Ridley Scott's LEGEND under the great Rob Bottin way back in 1884, just as the first steam engine locomotives began to criss cross the old west. Sigh. I remember it as though it were yesterday. The long hours. The dusty horseback ride from Pasadena to Monrovia under the scorching LA sun (well I did drive an old Pinto with no a/c). The sweat.
