Throwback to this beautiful fireplace mantel I had the joy to work on while I was an apprentice in the office of Thomas Rajkovich Architect. Repost from @tnrajkovicharchitect • Detail of the overmantel and Doric pilaster order of a new library we designed for a project near Chicago. The character is influenced by Georgian precedents and was executed in English walnut by master wood carver Dimitrios Klitsas, of Hampden, Massachusetts. All of the millwork of the room was then hand finished by Italian furniture conservator Leonardo Modi.
