Visiting this area in the island of Barbuda created some very memorable moments, for the insanely perfect waves, as much for the unique pristine surroundings. Right now we wouldn’t find it in the same pristine conditions, as its being bulldozed to make way for exclusive luxury homes. This is a highly dynamic area with big fluctuation in its sands and thus coastal shape, due to the natural low lying ecosystem which is an internationally protected wetland, home to many species. As exclusive as the homes intended may be, the fragile ecosystem, unique bathymetry and species living there are irreplaceable. It’s not to late to stop this atrocity from moving further.
