Last November, I made a commitment to myself, and it was the best decision I ever made. I was tired of having the same New Year’s resolution every year and not achieving the goal of getting into the best shape of my life in a healthy, sustainable way!!️
My career requires me to serve others, and being an entrepreneur makes it a lot easier to forget about creating space for yourself. That ultimately left me feeling drained and constantly in a state of dissatisfaction. I was sick of letting myself down, so I made the decision to stop talking about it and just do it (shout out to Nike).
I buckled down, got a personal trainer in December, and rededicated a lot of the time and energy that I put into others into myself. I’m so blessed and grateful that I have acquired the resources to allow me to do this for myself.
My journey has required me to say no a lot more to others, to say yes more to myself even when I lack the motivation, to set boundaries with loved ones and clients, and to push myself beyond what I previously thought was possible. And now, because I’ve made these adjustments, instead of feeling burnt out all the time, I feel like I have so much to give.
This is your sign to put the time into yourself! You deserve it! You are worth it. Taking care of you is ultimately selfless, not selfish!
It doesn’t have to be fitness necessarily. It could be therapy, writing, whatever makes you feel like a better you. I promise you if you put in the work to be the best version of you you can be, you won’t regret it.
