Located around Lake Rukwa are several upland districts where this Tanzania Korongo PB lot comes from. Comprised of numerous small family farms, the coffee cherries are pulped, processed, and then dried on raised beds before being transported to the processing mill where the coffee is sorted and graded into lots for export.
The family farms in this region have been working together along with Cotacof, an in-country export company, to gain Rain Forest Alliance certification as well as to continue to improve on quality scores so that their coffee can command a higher price. This regional lot was brought in by our buds at @sucafinaspecialty_northamerica and displays what we consider a perfect example of Tanzanian flavor profiles - a full body, pronounced sweetness, and prominent acidity.
This coffee will be continue to be around for a few more weeks before it winds down and we wait for the arrival of the North harvest in early 2023.
