It’s official folks, we have winter fresh cut flowers! @moonshot_farm has joined the Friday market with a stunning display of tulips and tiger lilies! Farmer couple Mark and Rebecca (and their kids Rosie and Violet) started the farm in 2019, after leaving their city life in Brooklyn. They now grow over 100 varieties of flowers at their 10 acre farm in East Windsor, NJ. “We really are those city folk who moved to the country and started a farm, and it’s so good to be back at the market we used to shop at!” says Rebecca. With the milder climate of New Jersey and a little Greenhouse magic, Moonshot can grow fresh flowers in the January. And for the first time this year, Mark and Rebecca put up a Geothermal greenhouse! This greenhouse uses an underground tubing system to collect heat from the ground which is then circulated throughout the house. Moonshot will be attending Fridays from now on, with more flower varieties to come (we’re looking forward to seeing ranunculus in a few weeks)! 🌷🌷🌷 #grownyc #gmktnyc
