For some reason I don't quite recall, it was decided that Vin Diesel should have a pet in The Chronicles of Riddick. Someone in the art department photobashed pangolin scales onto an illustration of a prehistoric shrew, called it a design, and I was tasked to sculpt it. Ignoring the shrew but keeping the scales, I merged a wolf with a panther and a bit of velocitaptor as I designed the beast in clay. The result was what we called a Hell Hound. As you can see from the pics, the sculpture was left unfinished, but the basic design was enough to build the animal digitally.
