I’ve shared (almost) every little step of this book process with all of you (gotta keep some surprises up my sleeve) and as we edge our way closer to it going to print and then hitting shelves - 12 weeks to go - I wanted to share this step with you. I’ve never done this before and the whole book writing l process has been such an interesting one filled with new lessons and insights into what it takes for a book to come to life! Today my ‘Proof Copies’ arrived. The ‘uncorrected proofs’ come out in the lead up to the book going to print for multiple reasons. They give us an opportunity to look over the type setting, making sure that the copy and details look and feel right before the final edit goes to print. It also gives us a feeling for how the cover will look, though as I explain in this video the final version will be printed in a brighter green. These copies will also goes out to media to read ahead of the books release and honestly I am once again, kinda lost for words. What a surreal moment.
