'Out of Control: The Concrete Art of Skateboarding' opens at the Audain Art Museum in just ten days! Join us on September 13 for a free Community Skate Session at the Whistler Racket Club featuring @raphaelzarka.
This community skate day will feature Paris-based artist @raphaelzarka’s ‘Paving Space’, a series of unique modular Douglas Fir sculptures. Local skateboarding icons will spend the day making unique marks on the artworks through the process of skating, before the sculptures are installed in the ‘Out of Control: The Concrete Art of Skateboarding’ exhibition, opening September 17 at the Audain Art Museum.
This will be a drop-in style event including a Pop-Up Museum Shop, @djpraiz, @coastmountainbeer, a community mural, BBQ and more. Please join us at any time between 3:00pm and 8:00pm, tickets are free and available online at audainartmuseum.com/skate or the link in our bio. If you are interested in skating on the sculptures, please register for a time slot at the event entrance when you arrive. Time slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
