We are celebrating January AD100 with three covers, and this one features actor Ellen Pompeo at ease in her 1979 modernist Malibu beach house with her husband fashion executive Chris Ivery and their three children. (Second image) “I like to say I manifested this house,” says @ellenpompeo. When she first saw the dream property, early in her career, “I knew I couldn’t afford it,” and she had to walk away. When it became available in 2013, the time was right and Pompeo seized the second chance. Pompeo, an interior design enthusiast, worked on this house with her close friend and longtime collaborator Martyn Lawrence Bullard. “We’ve been in each other’s lives so long we know what the other will like before even showing it to them,” says @martynbullard, adding that this is the their fourth project together.
