A new Japanese wagyu hamburg café just opened in Brooklyn—blending a curated shop vibe with a cozy, modern kitchen. Their signature Wagyu Hamburg Steak set ($39) comes teishoku-style with three comforting sides, rice, and soup. The steak is super thick and made purely with meat: 50% Japanese Wagyu, 50% American Wagyu. They have three sauces — demi-glace, pomodoro tomato, and grated daikon with ponzu. I recommend the ponzu one — it’s more refreshing and the daikon cuts the richness perfectly. They also serve one of the best puddings ($10) I’ve had in NYC—from a local Japanese pastry shop C by C—extra silky and deeply flavorful. For drinks, expect housemade ginger ale, shochu highballs, hojicha, and matcha—all under the culinary direction of Chef Yuji Tani (HOUSE Brooklyn). It’s part of 50 Norman’s new expansion: next to the existing broth shop Dashi Okume and design store Cibone, there’s now Cibone O’te—home to this café, plus appliance shop Balmuda and kitchenware shop Kama-Asa📍Cafe O’Te by HOUSE Brooklyn: 38 Norman Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222 . . #nyc #japanesefood #cafe #brooklyn #newyork
