Today's #NY1at30 coverage looks back at one of the deadliest fires in the history of the city.
On March 7, 2007, a fire in a wooden building in the Bronx, killing 10 people - nine of them children. All the victims were immigrants from Mali.
An investigation determined the fire was started by a space heater.
NY1 reporter Dean Meminger traveled to Mali alongside the families for the funeral services, telling the story of a community devastated on two continents.
