As most of you know, I am now a second-year Ph.D. student in STEM and this past year has been very challenging for me. Moving across continents, doing long-distance with my partner, being a daughter, sister, and friend, and succeeding in my studies and research, while also being a content creator and photographer is definitely a lot to manage. When I first moved into my apartment, it did not feel like home. It felt foreign and cold, and I would not spend as much time in my room. I eventually decided to fill my space with things that add light and life to it and that would bring me joy. However, I was especially skeptical about my working/study area. Now, I like to just sit at my desk and pause for a bit; not work or study, but just slowly reflect on my week (or year) and all the beautiful opportunities I get to enjoy.
