Welcoming Seasonal Shifts: Autumn EquinoxπβοΈπ€
Happy first day of Autumn or Fall as they call it where I am in California! This season is especially close to my heart as it is a time for slowing down, reflecting, and enjoying.
In Autumn I like to welcome in practices and rituals of nourishment that foster togetherness and community in preparation for the winter season ahead. I am so pleased to be welcoming in this seasonal shift with the Go Gently community. I hope you enjoy these rituals with a cup of tea in hand.
Kitchen Rituals π
Eat Seasonally! Tis the season of feasting on all things pumpkin from risottos to soups, sharing apple crumble with friends, and always having a warm cup of tea in hand. The seasonal ingredients I like to cook with include carrots, pumpkins, squash, apples, pears, cranberries, and quince.
Movement Rituals π
Movement is another important ritual in fall. As the evenings are finally cooling off in California I have been able to enjoy longer walks. Notice where I neglected daily stretching in the busier summer days and try to create more of a routine.
Creative Rituals π
This time of year I find myself inspired by the earthen hues of Fall. Making time to observe the changes in nature and the colors of the leaves helps me to slow down.
Practical Rituals π
A time to complete the housekeeping tasks we might have been neglecting. From restocking the pantry, mending clothes, organizing and cleaning the home.
However you go about welcoming the seasonal shift, I hope you do it with intention and ease, in a way that cultivates more nourishment and community in your life.
