An osprey giving me the side-eye during its fishing trip 👀 In the meantime it catched the rays of the low and sinking sun, as it peeked under the stormy clouds that make up the background ✨ I actually thought the local ospreys had died or stopped nesting in my area, as I hadn't seen them by this lake for three years. I was so positively surprised when I heard their characteristic calls whilst out walking on an evening in may! 😊 It turns out that the couple, their offspring, or maybe a new pair have moved the nest a couple of kilometres, so they were now on the far side of the lake! I was so stoked to find they were still there, and have spent a few evenings by the lakeside watching them 🦅🤩 It should be said that one should never opproach nesting birds, and espescially not birds of prey! They might leave the eggs and chicks if disturbed.
