How to love yourself through. I have been taking myself out on solo dates lately. It’s a great ritual for getting to know ones self and how the body/mind react to being alone in social settings. Do you feel anxious and uncomfortable? Do you need others to be around all the time? Do you feel safe and secure within your own head. I used to practice this regularly before shelter in place, it was recommended to me by my somatic therapist. I fell off beat during the height of the pandemic and began neglecting what I needed to sustain my mental health. I became wrapped up in hustle and started to subconsciously avoid many rituals of self love and inner exploration. I fell out of touch. Of course it took the painful end of a romantic relationship to shake my world up. To remind me that I had a heart that could feel pain. That I am a brain and body whose emotions need tending to regularly. I took myself out the other day to dance. At some points I was alone and others with friends I ran into. It was a great feeling of flow and existing freely. I am happy to be reinvesting energy into my well being and I hope you all are as well. If you haven’t been - this is your sign to start now.
