Instead of watching the @nvaloft balloons float by my windows, I was out of the house early this morning to power walk from one end of Yountville to the other before the horrid heat that seemingly can power these hot air balloons arrives. I followed a bevy of balloons from above my house where 🎈 🎈 kissed, down Washington Street, past The French Laundry, where a young couple with its baby stopped to take a photo with the @_tfl_ sign, past RH Yountville with its lighted chandeliers dangling over the tables on the terrace that will go unused today because of the 💯 + temperature and on to the cemetery and ancient Indian burial grounds named after the man for whom Yountville is named, George C. Yount, who in 1836 became the first non-native to establish a permanent home here.
