At a ceremony in Yosemite Valley on Tuesday, December 6th, Yosemite National Park Superintendent Cicely Muldoon announced the winners of the Barry Hance Award. The annual award, nominated by park employees, is given to an employee who exemplifies the ethics of Barry Hance which include a dedication to serving the park, care for fellow employees, a positive attitude, always willing to help others, and a true team player. The award was presented to two park employees this year, as they both exemplify Barry's spirit! The recipients are Lissie Kretsch, Wilderness Education Coordinator and Justin Buzzard, Engineering Equipment Operator and welder. This is the highest award presented to a park employee each year! Barry Hance was a park employee who tragically lost his life in an avalanche on Tioga Road in 1995. #yosemitenps #yosemite
