A new article in the New York Times talks about an incredibly important issue: The need for more education about female/ clitoral anatomy. It’s something I 100% agree with. Unfortunately, one of the people featured in the article has a history of being problematic, especially towards Black OB/GYN physicians. So much so, that earlier this year in January I created a video highlighting an instance in which they used the N- word, made comparisons to the Holocaust, exhibited xenophobia, then doubled down and refused to apologize. It’s crucial to have the patient perspective on issues like this. But it should never require highlighting individuals who have resorted to offending other communities in their advocacy. Platforms like the New York Times need to do a better job of who they choose to highlight in situations to prevent situations like this. Especially when there are countless OB/GYNs and patient advocates working on problems like these without harming others in the process. #reproductivejustice #femaleanatomy #newyorktimes
