Using early references from my family’s archive to blend symbolic motifs,I poses new meanings with the silhouettes and shapes drawn from the early works of Henning Christoph in his book VooDoo and Alan Locke’s anthropology ‘The New negro’. I merge those references with my British upbringing to encompass new concepts of identities within hybrid culture.
