putting together the gift bags for my Black content creator brunch tomorrow 😅 just in the last few days I was invited to the most lovely event. But I was the only Black person there. I wasn't upset, it only affirmed why the passion I have is ever important. the truth is, yes we have seen tremendous progress in inclusion within the beauty space but there is always work to be done. I've had my name be used in "10 Black creators to follow" or my quotes used for Juneteenth and Black History Month from brands who have never worked with me or many of my fellow creators. we're often used as the inspiration and the labor of content but do not get to enjoy the nicer events and things that brands have to offer. Even with macro Black creators there aren't but a few which perpetuates tokenism.
