Lessons learned documenting a young girl on the cusp of summer.. Slide 3 is roughly a year of journal entries.. I typically write anywhere between half a page to 3+ pages every day and have been doing so since I was about 11... not sure why I started but it’s crazy to look back and see the stories, growth, change, the highs and the lows all bundled up into these pages. Sometimes word vomit, sometimes poetic, but always therapeutic. I ask a lot of questions. Sometimes I find the answer as I’m writing, but most times they remain elusive, until months or even years later at which time I rarely notice the revelation as it passes like a vapor. It’s during times of reflection when I flip back through these pages and am reminded of how God has always been there, sharpening, honing and refining me into the man He’s called me to be. That despite the moments of struggle and uncertainty, they’re all simply a handful of frames that weave a much more intricate story. I think that’s the beauty of life. We’re not defined by a single journal entry we wrote in anger, excitement, sadness, joy, or a summer afternoon spent on a swing, but rather the culmination of all those moments bound together...
