Packed house today at @pwcsc, where we heard from current CM @mikebonin & CM-elect @eunisses2022 on transitioning from candidate to councilmember, and in particular, to their commitment to an ethic of co-governance with constituents. Much was discussed re: the need for electeds to be intentional w/ proactive strategies and structures to keep connected w/ Angelenos who may not have regular access to their council office, a particular challenge in the midst of having so many pulls on one’s time as councilmember. From our end, we plan on organizing LA Forward members in multiple city council districts to ensure that councilmembers don’t lose touch with regular, everyday Angelenos.
