✨6 tips to starting as a content creator. There’s no time like the present to start. But please, don’t go quitting your job right away. This stuff takes time to build. My 6 tips: 1- Find your niche and what you love and post about it. Be funny, educational, relatable, or inspiring. It can literally be underwater basket weaving. 2- If you’re truly a novice, for the first 3-6 months, be kind to yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Additionally, pick 5-8 brands you already own and shoot photos for your own media kit and portfolio. Get creative as heck. 3 - Forget what other people think. Post away. Be yourself. Let your light shine. And ignore imposter syndrome. No one know what’s they’re doing, so just do. 4- Start reaching out to brands and tourism boards. If you ask on IG, Ask for an email address to message. You can also use LinkedIn or type in “xxx tourism staff” If you don’t have a big following, pitch your other skills. Writing and photography can be charged regardless of your social “influence.” 5- Realize trends and jump on it early. Also, add in your own OG sounds. Even if it doesn’t catch on and go viral, IG usually pushes these out a bit more. 6- Don’t expect much income for the first 6 months. There’s a long runway here and Things didn’t start materializing for about that long. Also, if you’re looking at tourism boards, understand the seasons and what areas are driving tourism. (Ie: people aren’t going to visit and hike in Alaska in January) I hope this helps and gives you a launching point. There’s so many other people out there with tons of helpful information. Best of luck and you can always ask me questions or sign up for 1:1 consulting calls. - - - - #hiking #smallbiztips #tourismphotography #contentcreatortips #adventurephotographer
