Black Sound - 100 years of Black music in Brixton - Saturday 6 August​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ From dub poetry to dubstep, the radiograms and radio stations, this tour will explore the stories and sites of more than 100 years of Black music in Brixton. Tracing the musicians who brought jazz to the UK, the record shop that was headquarters to the British civil rights movement, the Trinidadian superstar who created an anthem for the Windrush generation, and how the arrival of the sound system changed British music forever.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ Don't forget to check your emails for the location of the meeting place, and please arrive in time for a 10:30am start.
