⁣I was on the Q train. Heading to my job in Union Square. ⠀ ⠀ The first plane hit right before my train made it on to Manhattan Bridge. When we made it to bridge, the train operator said, “a plane just hit one of the twin towers, so we have a delay”. Because we were on the bridge with a view of lower Manhattan we could see the burning building. ⠀ ⠀ Everyone in my car became quiet. People started to pray for those who had died in the crash. People kept saying over and over those poor people who were just sitting at their desk trying to work. People questioned if the pilot had a medical emergency. Why else would someone hit a building? We felt sad for the people on the plane. I remember shedding some tears because it was a sad sight to see. No one knew what was about to happen. We sat there quietly because we realized being late was better than what we were seeing. ⠀ ⠀ The train moved through the tunnel and I made it to my office. When I arrived to work everyone was huddled around a small tv in the conference room. I told them how I was on the bridge watching the first tower burn and they informed me that the second one was hit too. ⠀ Rest of the story in my comments.
