@drinkzuzu is my personal favorite bottled cocktail to enjoy on a hot august day by the beach or at home. The agave spirit base works well with my style of cooking. The calamansi flavor is my go to.
The middle of summer is here! Which means the farmers markets are abundant in fresh herbs and the best of seasonal produce. Also the less hot cooking inside - the better!
I developed this spicy pistachio pesto recipe for @drinkzuzu and it has since then become a summer staple in my house. It includes dried chile de arbol for heat, pistachio for a creamy nutty flavor, cotija cheese for a salty punch and fresh lemon juice that balances all flavors out harmoniously. Fresh garden basil is the star of this dish as it can be found at its peak during summer months.
The pesto is perfect on cold pastas and tomato salads. I also developed a seared zucchini and heirloom tomato sandwich featuring the pesto. Zuzu will be sharing the recipe
