I love competitions. There is so much excitement, dedication, and love wrapped into the performances. There is also a wide and wild range of emotions that predictably show up. Between the personal performance highs and lows, pressure, expectations, changing sleep schedules, messed up eating, and ..well...whatever the past 2 years has been - it can be a lot. A lot of self-regulation for the dancers, the teachers, and the parents. I will never forget Dr.Matt Brown telling a group of dance parents their only job is to love on their child- hard. That all they ever need to say is “I love watching you perform.” Good coaches do the rest. 🤍
