Very excited to announce my first board model with @haydenshapes called the Weird Series. It’s offered in either Future Flex or soft top construction. It's been a model we designed over 5 years ago when I first started filming the series "Weird Waves" and we’ve been fine tuning it over the course of the show... It's a groveler that makes riding anything easy. I needed a one board quiver that could handle surfing anything from standing river waves, to wedges and since a lot of the spots we went to were smashing my boards, I really wanted to have a soft top version that would bounce off rocks and not get dinged but still offered performance. Hayden decided to make a step down Untitled for our first shape which worked perfectly. Since then we've fine tuned the rocker and concaves to make a super user friendly board to have in the quiv. (think performance fish) Being a sci fi nerd, I wanted the board to come with original art from my dude @haxloeffler who made 2 different graphic you can choose from. Max helped us hone in on our art direction for Weird Waves season 2. @jesseyules brought max's art to life in the edit. Super pumped on how this all turned out. Last but not least my good friend @_mattpayne_ shot and edited the edit that is live on Haydenshapes.com I've worked with Matty a bunch over the years and as usual, is a dream to work with. We thought it would be cool to test the board out in some actual waves (even tho it's not designed for that) and final segment of the edit was filmed in sessions that were exactly what the board was designed for... tricky, rocky, hard to surf waves.
