I accidentally sent myself flowers yesterday. 😮🙃 I know that sounds weird, but I woke up to a text that said “Your @matildasbloombox is out being delivered! Track it here.” I thought it was a spam phishing link, so I ignored it. But then I thought…wait, have I update my Bloombox deliveries in a while?! 😅 In fact…oops. I really hadn’t unchecked yesterday’s date for delivery. But what could I do now? It was already on its way. 🙂And honestly, in a way, it felt like the universe was sending me flowers on the anniversary of my child’s MRI exam last year..🥹 So, I rolled with it. 🙏🏼 “Berry Kissmas” was such a fun box to arrange at lunch. and it smells SO good. 🥰😌🌹🌲 But I will have to say I was perplexed at first with how to make the holiday greens layer as a base properly until I gave myself permission to trim it down. I don’t know why I get so nervous to trim down or cut apart the things that are sent because it seems so irreversible once you cut something. 🫣 But the pine needed to be cut apart or else it didn’t have enough bend in the branch to mold into a base I wanted. And once I was able to relax a bit from cutting apart the pine, the wax flowers, the privet and pepper berries, it became more tailored to my vase and my interpretation of the arrangement. Things don’t always need to look like the pictures 🥲 (but I do hope my peony, ranunculus, and protea bloom a little more as the week goes on!) I haven’t received a Bloombox in awhile, mostly because our house is so messy most of the time that it doesn’t feel right to splurge on a nice arrangement when I don’t have anywhere to display it. 😔 In these times, it can also seem almost frivolous to splurge on myself. But I’m really glad I accidentally sent myself flowers yesterday because life will always be a little messy. You can’t wait for it to become un-messy to enjoy it.
