Pt. 1 of 2 For those of you who know what it took to safely make a movie during lockdown at the height of COVID, you also know that none of it appears in a single frame of film. The quarantines, the zoom rehearsals, the daily testing, trying to communicate through multiple layers of PPE, the risk of leaving family and loved ones every day to work on a set that was largely unvaccinated, the constant threat hanging over us that a positive test could shut us down at any moment, the inability to share meals together on or off set, the imposed boundaries of separate work zones, etc., etc. All of this was offset by a deep gratitude for the privilege of working when so many people couldn’t. In spite of these obstacles (designed to keep us apart for our safety) the group that made this film managed to come together and bond in common purpose. I’m proud of the work we did, and the way we combined our love and labor to shine a light during what felt like a pretty dark time. For me, that’s reason enough to do what we do. #weddingseason
