Filming vs Free riding. Let’s talk about it! It was late in the day, shady and I wasn’t able to get the best look at this particular line. From my vantage point, if I got to the big rock and just skirted around it I could work through the crux, get on the mushroom and link the bottom portion. Obviously that’s was not the outcome. After studying this clip, I found that if I was just a foot or two riders right I would have been able to manage the crux section much better. Now if I wasn’t filming I would have ridden this totally different. I would have got to the crux, realized I should be further right and stopped. But when filming, speed and fluidity is everything, so when I got to the rock, I was already committed. In my mind, if you stop mid line it pretty much blows the shot. There are exceptions with that of course but I’m always wanting to flow a line without stoping, or in this case eating 💩 I love learning and I learned a lot here. Maybe I’ll get another shot at this one 🤞
