Contemporary artist, George Fischer, graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago as a highly skilled technical realist. He eventually moved to New Mexico where he expanded to more complex imagery and is well known today as a still-life surrealist painter. This featured piece, “Infinity,” is oil on canvas and showcases a pair of trousers in the lower left corner. Pieces of empty clothing in Fischer’s paintings are a testament to the passage of time. Objects and articles of clothing tend to remain after we pass, and they provide much of the continuity and context to our civilization.
