In February 2020 I first linked up with @coolinwhoyoufoolin to help me write a song for the dad’s wedding, which then started our personal and music relationship. We finished this song on Valentine’s Day of this year. Fast forward to August 2021 - many still don’t realize I make music so when @beagirlconnected invited me to be apart of their first songwriting retreat I was ecstatic and met @thisisjeia. I had been searching for the right beat for a while and was blown away by Jeia’s talent (seriously check her out). It was then and there, where I realized I could have complete say in the music I make and added my own production choices for the first time on this song. I was able to completely surprise my dad and new step mom with this very personal wedding gift. Lyricism is something I value a lot - I’ve never written a love song before this but with a great couple as inspo and Coolin in my back pocket, words flowed effortlessly.
