My first National Geographic assignment was a 30 day expedition to the arctic. I'll never forget the feeling of the cold, crisp air on my face or what it felt like to be locked in a kingdom of ice, staring off into the northern reaches of our planet. The arctic is one of the last remaining, fully-intact, ecosystems on our planet and needs our protection. I recently completed my 5th expedition to the polar north, this time to Svalbard, capturing its wild beauty & charismatic cast of colorful characters. You'd swear this place was born from fairytales.
