For our Inky Dhow installation at @sketchlondon : I designed a new console-style desk where the marquetry wraps around every surface, including its circular legs - it has pushed @weareshamsian marquetry techniques to a bold new level and utilised 487 hand-dyed, laser cut pieces of Bird’s Eye Maple veneer created to fully envelope the piece in Inky Dhow. On the table the Orion Swirl table light, made with mouth-blown Murano glass spheres (incorporated with LED lighting strung around the inside of the brass frame and connected with brass rods) in collaboration with @baroncelliworld ‘s Creative Director @giovannicorrado Hanging this beautiful Nepalese hand knotted rug, made in collaboration with @cc_tapis , has been the perfect finishing touch for the installation. It is a wonderful way to see up close the way cc-tapis’ Tibetan weavers bring the pattern to life knot by knot in a contrast of Himalayan wool and pure silk.
