Presented for Your Consumption I & II Both are 40” x 30” Oil on Canvas These paintings were for a class focused on artwork addressing climate change, so I decided to connect my current work about feminism and draw a line between the exploitation of the environment and that of women. I used natural objects acting as cliche symbols for women and removed them from their original environments suspending them in an infinite white landscape to allude to digital media and reference the impact that’s had on our current understanding of feminism and other contemporary issues. Final shot is a pic of the installation featuring a black chain hanging between the paintings. Deviation from my usual work, but it was a lot of fun!!
