A few weeks ago, I shared on my story that I’ve been feeling frustrated with the fact that no matter how much I achieve, I feel like I could always do better or more and end up feeling dissatisfied and not good enough. So many of you could relate to feeling the same way either in the past or currently. A question that I’m still trying to figure out is - How do I master the balance between chasing for more whilst being satisfied and happy with how far I’ve come/ what I have now? Although self development comes with the need to be self reflective on all parts of ourselves and take relentless responsibility and control (imo), if we linger too long in the self critical/reflective mode, we can fall into the trap of being hyper focused on our ‘weaknesses’ and will constantly seek evidence of how we fall short against our higher self or others. The body/mind’s mechanism is to keep us safe, so it will be saying things like - well, in order for you to fit in, be enough and be loved, you’re going to have to be more like “X” and less like “X”. This is where we can create and solidify self limiting beliefs. If we instead lead with more compassion and acceptance, we can finally reject the impossible quest of perfectionism and the debilitating state of feeling like we’re not enough. The goal post will constantly be shifting for as long as we live, so this is your reminder to look back on how far you’ve come and how much you’ve achieved to foster more growth and push forward darling. 🦋🫶💖💙
