While folks are getting ready to participate in thanks-taking day, one of our podcast hosts @bonnabella.xvx (Cocopah, they/them), was fired from their job. Neo-c0l 0n!zers have started hate-listening to our podcast, found out where Bonn works and snitched on them for being (wrongfully) arrested during a demonstration to @bołish pøłíćê after an unsheltered relative was beaten by them. This is the epitome of doxxing. They need our support, putting this here before people decide if they want to read the rest. V3nm0, C@sh@pp, p@yp@ł: bonnabellaxvx “By itself, being doxxed can be dangerous, as it may reveal information about you that could harm you if it were publicly known. More often it is used to escalate to greater harm such as mass online harassment, in-person violence, or targeting other members of your community. Your political beliefs or status as a member of a marginalized community can amplify these threats.” - Daly Barnett Though we don’t believe anyone should have to work to support their livelihood, Bonn created meaningful connections throughout all of northern “Arizona” to bring resources and support to families and children who have been systematically oppressed. In this region of the world, that is exclusively Native people. One of the projects they worked on was working with Hopi to create a children’s book in the Hopi language that included pictures of Hopi families to support their efforts in language reclamation. Bonn was stripped away from the opportunity to say bye to all of the people they’ve built relationships with over the past 5 years. The state has a centuries long tactic of separating Indigenous people from their relatives and kin. Bonn has experienced this time and time again from watching their (now missing) mother be deported to being taken from one group home to the next in foster care. As the f@c !st-state continues to threaten the livelihood of those who make the most noise, take a look at these resources to prevent being doxxed: https://itsgoingdown.org/we-are-being-doxxed-what-to-do-help-keep-each-other-safe/ https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/12/doxxing-tips-protect-yourself-online-how-minimize-harm @efforg
