JAVIER BARDEM. The incredible Spanish actor was photographed in Montreal Canada. At the end of most sessions I love to go as dark as I can, trying not to loose control over darks at any time. Depending on clothes, hair color etc. the margin between over lit and lost shadows is quite narrow. The easy way is to throw light at it. Rim lights etc. I prefer controlling light 💡 in very precise ways. Not in Photoshop btw. Heavy post always leaves it’s mark and looks in my view artificial. I believe in working with light - to observe what it does. I want to be a Photographer - not a Retoucher. Shadows fascinate me as much as light itself. Unfortunately the compression of Instagram does not allow to see the full range - ever!
