Disability is often portrayed as a negative experience, only being highlighted when disabled people are struggling. For that reason, many non-disabled people believe that it is impossible to be disabled and happy. For years, disability activists have been outspoken about the importance of sharing the positive, disabled joy. Like every other group, people with disabilities have complex and vastly different experiences. #DisabledJoy highlights the fulfilling and joyful experiences without erasing the presence of disability.
